The Student Visionaries of the Year Competition is an annual flagship event that recognizes and celebrates the most outstanding young innovators and leaders across Southern Africa. It brings together learners from diverse schools and backgrounds to compete, collaborate, and showcase transformative ideas that respond to real-world challenges.

Competition Structure:

  • Eligibility: Open to high school learners (Grades 10–12) and tertiary students within Southern Africa.
  • Categories: Innovation, Leadership, Social Impact, STEM Excellence, and Entrepreneurship.

Process:

  • Application & Idea Submission – Students submit their concepts, projects, or solutions.
  • Shortlisting & Mentorship – Selected participants receive mentorship to refine their ideas.
  • Regional Rounds – Students compete at provincial or regional levels.
  • National Finals – Winners from each category advance to the finals for judging.
  • Awards Gala – The top visionary is crowned “Student Visionary of the Year” and category winners are recognized.
